Working on

Ledger design. Specifically, how to keep an append-only double-entry ledger correct and fast at the same time — where you put balances, how you snapshot them, and how reconciliation catches the day you get it wrong.

Reading & chewing on

• Idempotency past the happy path: what actually happens when the retry lands mid-write.
• ISO 20022 in practice — richer payment data, and what systems do with it once the migration dust settles.
• Where "exactly-once" quietly becomes "at-least-once plus dedupe" in real money movement.

Not doing

Chasing every new rail or framework. I'd rather understand a few money-movement problems deeply than skim a hundred. Depth over breadth — that's the whole editorial line here.
