What I'm focused on right now

This is a now page (opens in new tab): a snapshot of what has my attention at this moment, not an archive. If it's stale, poke me.
Working on
I just finished writing up reconciliation — the unglamorous 3am job that decides whether your books are fiction or fact. Now I'm poking at the layer under it: how a reconciliation engine actually classifies a break and hands it somewhere to go, so unmatched items get loud instead of piling up as a guilt list nobody reads.
Reading & chewing on
- The GENIUS Act rulemaking — regulators drawing a primary/secondary market line on stablecoins that reads exactly like an engineering decision about where you can enforce an invariant.
- A stablecoin as a liability ledger with an address on one side and nobody the issuer has ever met on the other — and what that does to KYC at the mint and the burn.
- Still circling ISO 20022: richer payment data is the same "rails must carry who and what for" pressure, coming from the other direction.
Not doing
Getting sucked into the stablecoin price-and-hype cycle. I care about the plumbing — where identity attaches, how a mint or redemption gets deduped when it retries — not which token is up this week. Depth over breadth, still the whole editorial line here.
